VALIMAI (2022) TAMIL MOVIE REVIEW

Valimai (2022)
Directed by H. Vinoth

Arjun, a police officer, sets out on a mission to hunt down Satan’s slaves, a group of violent bikers involved in a theft and murder.

Positives:

First positive is Ajith’s screen presence and his hardwork put in for the stunt and action sequences. Hats off. Huma Qureshi has small role but she does it neatly. Stunt choreography by Dilip Suburayyan was awesome especially the highway road bus sequence was crazy and great work by H Vinoth for executing this brilliantly. Nirav Shah’s cinematography was extraordinary. The racy visuals is an added advantage for the bike stunt sequence. Yuvan's Songs and Ghibran BGMs also very nice to hear.

Negatives:

None of the charecters were written properly including Ajith’s character. Ajith is shown as a smart cop like how we usually see in all mass film. He easily finds clue and easily gets closer to the villain. There was no depth in writing. In some scenes, there is good writing but in some scenes, it’s just “meh”. It was so sad to see these things in a H. Vinoth film. While watching, we will definitely feel like “Is this really H Vinoth’s film?”, as we are used to enjoy the director’s detailing and scene executions. Also the Class elements are missing this time. There’s this unnecessary “amma sentiment” scenes, which I don’t know for how long will be seeing this in Tamil cinema. It was completely unnecessary for an action film. The runtime is nearly 3 hours and it was totally unnecessary. They could have easily chopped off some scenes. I was watched the Hindi version, in this some of the unnecessary scenes are trimmed and merged it perfectly. So the movie was given more engaging experience for me.

Overall, Valimai is a pakka treat for Ajith fans and as well as Action Movies fans also. The Action sequences are gives Goosebumps for you. Valimai is Definitely A Power Packed Action Treat. No doubt..!!!
